DREAM OR NIGHTMARE

Just got a car, love it, not just a car it's my dream car, a 92 Toyota Supra turbo. White over red leather, power everything. Problem is last owner never titled it in his name. Car sat in barn 4 years. I saw it loved it took it home. But I’m worried about DMV w\title not right, can’t find the seller now but want to get started re-building the car now. Any advice?

I hate to burst your bubble but you have a problem or two or more. The thumb rule is “If you don’t have title, you don’t own it.” If the guy you got it from didn’t have title, how do you know if he ever owned it?
My advice is to contact The Department of Motor Vehicles and tell them you purchased a car but did not receive the title. (Have the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) available. I hope you paid by check to prove you “bought” the car. Without a proper transfer of title you might be considered as having possession of a stolen car. As holder of stolen property it might revert to the last legitimate title holder, in which case you might not get your money back. Do nothing to the car until you find out if you can get a clear title. To protect yourself contact a lawyer.
