DISABILITY DENIED Elaine, Uncle Jim has little experience with Social Security Disability. That said - here are some thoughts: Social Security is a national program and, I assume, has similar standards in all states. Social Security information is available on line but it is difficult to understand or get specific answers. Social Security agents are available by phone. Sometimes they can be helpful. If you have already filed and have been turned down, filing from a different state should not change eligibility. Ordinarily, they keep case histories on file. To my knowledge, your information is available to them and you. If there are new conditions or changes to be considered, that might help your case. If you think you have been denied unfairly, there are attorneys that specialize in Social Security Disability. Without endorsement or recommendation, Binder and Binder advertise on TV. I understand they charge nothing unless they win your case and their fee is controlled and reasonable. “Moved science, (?)” I think you meant, “moved since.” Everybody’s Uncle |
