CAN BROTHER CHARGE STORAGE?
I have a car that needs a lot of work on it and I can't pay it or the loan I called the finance company and told them my problem and they said they didn’t want the car. They told me to sell the car for $2000 and they would send the title. But I told them no one will buy it for that amount. The car is in my brothers yard; can he charge storage on it if not what can I do?
Thanks,
William

William, Finance companies are in the business of making money – NOT bailing people out of “worthless” cars. To the best of my knowledge, they will give you title ONLY after you pay off your loan, no matter if you sell the car for $2000 or $20 or keep it as a lawn ornament. If your car is on your brother’s property or anyone else’s – YES, you could be required to pay storage. The best thing to do is to resolve this matter before it gets worse. If you must, sell the car to a salvage company or anyone that might be able to repair it. Get it off your brother’s property before a finance problem becomes a family problem. You will still have to pay what you owe on the car but you must stop the bleeding.
